Lessons

Dunrovens’ lesson program is dedicated to teaching the art of horsemanship based on classical principles of dressage and jumping. Come build a relationship with new horses and improve your riding skills. Dunroven’s School horses are all experienced and successful show horses with kind dispositions. Dunroven’s school horses are available for leasing.

Lessons are available for adults and children age 5 and older.

We teach beginners balance seat riding. As students progress we begin to concentrate on the discipline that best suits their interests and talents—either dressage or jumping.

Private lessons

Private lessons are required to start. 1/2 hour private lessons are suggested for younger children.

Semi-private lessons

A shared session for two individuals that prefer to ride together rather than in a private lesson. This is ideal for a parent and a child or two friends.

Cancellation policy

Must notify by text or phone, NOT email, 24 hours in advance or lesson fee applies.

Practice Rides

All riding students of Dunroven Farm who have passed their introductory testing are welcome to use a lesson horse not scheduled in a lesson for a practice ride. These rides need to be approved by Laura and scheduled in advance. The fee is $45.00

Ring Use/ XC Schooling

XC schooling and use of the rings. Dunroven farm has a nice mix of cross country jumps from grasshopper to Novice level, including banks, drops, ditches and water available for schooling. Fee is 25.00 per horse and rider combination. Rider must sign a liability release, show proof of current negative coggins and contact Laura thru email for scheduling.

Summer Riding Program

Events

Our students and boarders participate in a variety of activities off the farm including pace events, clinics with national trainers, fox hunting, beach rides and showing in dressage, eventing, huntseat.
